Two men are surprised installing equipment to clone cards in a supermarket on 8th Street in Miami

MIAMI. – Two men were arrested after they were caught allegedly installing a device to clone bank cards at a Tropical supermarket in West Miami, authorities reported.

The case occurred at the establishment located at the intersection of 8th Street and 61st Avenue Southwest, where several witnesses observed suspicious movements around a payment terminal and decided to contact the police.

According to investigators, the suspects had installed a system capable of copying data from debit and credit cards used by business customers.

Those arrested were identified as Pylyp Vionov45 years old, and Anton Levkun42. Court records show that Levkun was later released after posting bail.

The authorities indicated that the crazy person’s surveillance cameras captured part of what happened and that the recordings were incorporated as evidence in the case.

The device allegedly used to obtain banking information was also recovered by detectives during the operation.

So far, it has not been specified the amount stolen or how many clients may have been affected or if the detainees were related to other similar incidents in South Florida.

Police continue to investigate the case as they review the evidence collected and possible bank transactions associated with the cloning scheme.
