Trump consultant Witkoff: Putin is not "villain"






The US specialist Steve Witkoff has visibly impressed himself by Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin. The Russian president is not a “villain”, but rather a “great” leader who wants to end the war in Ukraine, said US President Donald Trump in an interview with the right-wing moderator Tucker Carlson on Friday (local time).

“I liked him. I thought he was honest with me,” said Witkoff, who had spent several hours with Putin in Moscow last week. Witkoff said about the Russian attack war in Ukraine for more than three years: “This is a complicated situation, this war and all the ingredients that have led to him.”

Witkoff reported how Putin told him that after the shot on Trump at an election campaign event in Butler in July 2024, he “went to his local church, met with his president and prayed for the president”. Putin did not do this because Trump could “become the President of the United States, but because he was friends with him and prayed for his friend”.

Putin also gave him a gift for Trump, Witkoff reported visibly impressed: “A wonderful portrait of President Trump from a leading Russian artist”. This was “such a homely moment”. Since Trump’s reorganization in January, the United States has been trying to approach Russia.

During his time as a moderator of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Fox News, Carlson was one of the best -known faces of the arch -conservative transmitter. With a sharp right positions and in terms of content to Trump, he secured a great follow -up in the right -wing television viewers.

In April 2023 he was released by Fox News. In the meantime, he runs his own streaming platform and publishes its programs in online networks. The videos are watched millions of times.

Last year he had an interview with Putin. Carlson is considered a leading bewitter of Kremlin -friendly narrative in the United States.
