Copa Libertadores, eternal glory and astronomical awards

Alianza Lima spent 11 years without winning in the Copa Libertadoresbut in the 2025 edition he advanced for the first time in a stage of life or death of the oldest international club tournament on the continent.

The blue and white club was born 124 years ago, founded by the workers of the career horses of who would later be president of the Republic of Peru.

Most of its founders were black people and printed what they had best: skill, dance, inspiration and joy.

They established their headquarters in La Victoria, a humble neighborhood of the Peruvian capital. They were as united that popular wisdom baptized them as the intimates of victory.

From their quarries exceptional players such as the World Cups “Nene” Cubillas, Paolo Guerrero, César Cueto, José Velásquez and Hugo “Cholo” Sotil emerged, among others.
