Hans Flick confirms his renewal with Barcelona until 2028

The coach of FC Barcelona, Hans Flick, confirmed this Tuesday that he has reached an agreement to renew his contract with the Barça club until 2028, although the Catalan entity has not yet made it official.

The 61-year-old German coach showed his satisfaction at continuing to lead the culé project after conquering LaLiga.

“I am very happy and what I have achieved gives me confidence to continue for another year or two,” declared Flick.

The coach assured that there is a closed verbal agreement between both parties and even left open the possibility of extending his stay in the future.

“At the moment, I have until 2028 and, if everything goes well, we will expand it. I am in the right place to reach the best level and achieve new titles,” he stated.

Flick maintains European ambition

After securing the league championship, Flick made it clear that Barcelona’s main objective remains to conquer Europe again.

“Everyone has the dream of the Champions League. We have tried and we will continue trying,” he explained.

The coach also publicly thanked the club for its trust and valued the atmosphere he has found since his arrival.

Barcelona wants to finish LaLiga with 100 points

Although the title is already secured, Flick wants to close the season with a historic record.

“The goal is to achieve 100 points and for that we have to win the three remaining games,” he said.

For this reason, the German ruled out experiments in the starting eleven despite the requests of some fans who want to see a team made up mostly of La Masía players.

One of the names mentioned was the young goalkeeper Kochen, although Flick made it clear that he will not be part of the immediate plans.

“Joan is number one and Szczesny is second. If we change anything, it will be because of Tek,” he said.

Flick avoids commenting on Lewandowski and Rashford

The Barça coach was also consulted about the future of Robert Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford, although he preferred not to go into too much detail.

Regarding the Polish forward, Flick praised his performance and leadership.

“I have won titles with him and I am proud to be his coach,” he commented.

Regarding Rashford, he limited himself to highlighting his numbers and assured that all decisions will be analyzed once the season ends.
