Dolphins make roster moves

The Miami Dolphins They have their sights set on their challenge this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargersin which they hope, once and for all, to reverse the bad start to the season they have had and which saw them lose a lead of up to 17 points in their last game, a defeat against the Carolina Panthers.

And when things are not going well, it is important that a team can make moves that serve to refresh the atmosphere. That’s exactly what the South Floridians did this week, when they drafted a pair of players to their practice squad.

Miami signed the safety Jordan Colbert for the active roster of the training team and placed the cornerback on injured reserve Cornell Armstrong. Likewise, the team also agreed with the cornerback Kendall Sheffield for the practice squad.

Armstrong has played 43 games with four starts in a career in which he has worn the uniforms of Houston, Atlanta and Miami over five seasons. In that period, the player totaled 45 tackles and seven passes defensed. Additionally, he also spent time on the practice squad with Atlanta and Las Vegas.

For his part, Colbert appeared in a game with the Dolphins, making his debut in the NFL during the week three clash against Buffalo. He entered the top flight as an undrafted free agent in 2024 and spent that season on the practice squad.

The Sheffield experience

Sheffield, for his part, has played 49 games (20 starts) with Atlanta, San Francisco, Tennessee and the New York Jets. During that period he has totaled 108 tackles and six passes defensed. The player also had a practice squad internship with Dallas in 2022 and was with Miami for part of the offseason program and in this year’s training camp.

Mike McDaniel’s Dolphins are in second-to-last place in the AFC East, with a balance of 1-4 and only ahead of the Jets who have succumbed in their first five games of the current competition.
