ABU DHABI.- The Dutch Red Bull driver, Max Verstappenput a golden finishing touch to a dream season in the Formula 1in which he won his third consecutive title, with his 19th victory of the course in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this Sunday at the circuit Yas Marina.
Launched from pole, Verstappen crossed the finish line ahead of his teammate Sergio Perezalthough the Mexican received a five-second penalty that relegated him to fourth place, surpassed by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the British George Russell (Mercedes).
With the drivers’ and constructors’ titles already decided before the event in Yas Marinamuch of the interest in the last race was focused on the runner-up of brands, which in the end is for Mercedeswhich adds three points more than Ferrari (409 by 406), thanks to the ninth place of Lewis Hamilton.
The seven-time world champion, however, is pending a possible sanctionalthough that would not influence the runner-up, since although Mercedes loses the two points added by Hamilton, it can never be surpassed by Ferrari, whose second driver, the Spanish Carlos Sainzcould not finish the race.
