Venezuelan actress Norkys Batista denounces that she was a victim of xenophobia in Hialeah

MIAMI.- Venezuelan actress and model Norkys Batista She reported, through her social networks, that she was a victim of xenophobia, when she and her family were attacked by the owner of the Palms Springs Mile Valero establishment, located at 5090 west 4th Ave. Hialeah.

In a first video you can see a man of Cuban nationality aggressively requesting Batista, his son and brother, to leave the establishment where the family was to buy groceries and rent a vehicle.

“They’re leaving, bye. Venezuelans from… (expletive). They’re leaving, they’re leaving here. This is my property. They’re leaving here,” says the man, while asking some young women accompanying him to call 911 .

In the middle of the discussion, the man seems to justify his action by telling them that only one person could be there to rent a car, while the actress explains that they understand the regulations, but that the rest of the family was consuming on the premises.

The moment went viral on social networks, which has aroused the indignation of Internet users who claim that the man had an erratic attitude and regret that his action could be taken by some to discredit the Cuban community in the United States.

Norkys Batista’s reaction

Hours later, Norkys shared a video in which it explains what happened at the establishment, asserting that it is a public complaint with which it seeks to warn of the poor customer treatment that the establishment’s consumers may receive.

The interpreter explains that a follower left a message on the store’s account questioning the man’s behavior; and he responded with attacks on the family and xenophobic and racist comments towards the African-American community.

Batista alleges that she entered the establishment with her brother, husband and son in order to buy some things and rent the Uhaul truck. She pointed out that although they understood that there should be only one person who processed the car, she had explained to the owner of the place that she wanted her husband to stay to help her with the process, since the reservation was in her name, but she She was the one who had her documents at hand.

Likewise, she points out that the man wants to report them for defamation, but she demands that the security video of the establishment be shown, since she said that the conflict began long before she recorded her leaving the place.

Norkys highlighted that the man was armed, which is why when he started pushing them out of the store, she wanted to avoid a confrontation between him, her husband and her brother.

Likewise, the family called the Uhaul company because reviews on Google, recent and from years ago, indicate that the man’s treatment is rude, he does not have good customer service and, like the family of the Venezuelan actress, the Hialeah boot.
