Trump and Venezuela
During his speech before a hundred leaders and diplomatic representatives from around the world, Trump referred to hemispheric issues, the US-Greenland agreement, and also the controversial issue of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He emphasized the willingness to use US “military power” to protect US interests in Latin America.
He addressed the issue of Venezuela and defended the political work that his government is carrying out after the capture of Nicolás Maduro on January 3.
“Since that day, hundreds of political prisoners have been released from prison. We are working with leaders to forge a better future for the Venezuelan people,” he assured and highlighted the progress made with that country in oil matters, which will benefit the US population.
No wars or threats
Trump warned that he will not allow “threats” from countries in the Western Hemisphere to the country.
He addressed, as expected, the issues of Iran and Ukraine in the forum of world diplomacy.
After highlighting the cessation of the Gaza war in the Middle East as an American achievement, he expressed his conviction that it will end the war in Iran “one way or another,” including the “annihilation” of the Islamic regime.
The president also highlighted the work of the United States with Russia and Ukraine in the effort to end the intense war confrontations since 2021.
Bases in Greenland
In his speech, Trump assured that his administration will begin “immediately” to build two large military bases in Greenland, in line with the agreement signed with the authorities of Denmark and the autonomous territory that allows the US military presence permanently.
“We will immediately begin the process to develop a significant military presence in appropriate locations. We will build two large military bases,” he said.
