WASHINGTON.- The Armed Forces of USA reported the death of three alleged “narcoterrorists” in a new bombing of alleged drug trafficking vessels in the waters of the Peaceful Colombian.
“On May 29 and by order of the commander of the Southern Command, General Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a lethal attack against a vessel belonging to terrorist organizations”, published the US Southern Command in a statement.
According to CENTCOM, “three male narcoterrorists were killed during this action. No US military personnel were harmed.”
The boat “was traveling along a known drug trafficking route in the eastern Pacific and was carrying out drug trafficking operations“Washington explained without giving more information about it.
Military operations
The costs of these military operations amount to $4.7 billion, according to the project, which highlights the deployment of AC-130J Ghostrider aircraft, F-35 fighters and guided missile destroyers, as well as some 15,000 members of US military personnel.
The other major argument against these attacks is legal, since jurists question the lethal use of force outside their territorial waters.
US authorities say the attacks disrupted some maritime drug trafficking routes and led to an increase in cocaine seizures by the US Coast Guard, which reached more than 230,000 kilograms in 2025, more than triple the service’s annual average.
But although this is a huge amount, it pales in comparison to the massive boom in cocaine production in South America, especially in Colombia, the world’s largest source of the drug. In Colombia alone, the United Nations estimates that annual cocaine production is around 2.5 million kilograms.
