Support for María Corina Machado reaches an overwhelming 82.6%

CARACAS.- The latest public opinion study by the Meganalisis firm, corresponding to May 2026, consolidates that the leadership of Maria Corina Machadocapitalizes on the popular cry for change in the face of the ruin caused by the Venezuelan regime.

Faced with an eventual polarized electoral scenario, Machado would obtain an overwhelming 82.6% of the votes, while the president in charge of the regime, Delcy Rodríguez, would reach 4.5% support.

The consultation, carried out between May 20 and 27 of this year on a national sample of 1,119 citizens, ratifies the general rejection of the ruling party leadership. 93.8% of the population categorically rejects the possibility of Delcy Rodríguez leading any institutional transition process.

Total collapse of the Chavista model and identity

The social diagnosis of the survey shows the irreversible exhaustion of socialist doctrine. 87.2% of those surveyed associate socialism directly with “bad living, regression and poverty”, burying the official rhetoric that only convinces 7.6% of those surveyed. Likewise, only 10.4% formally define themselves as left-wing (which represents a drop of 4.4 points compared to February 2026) and only 4.3% assume the Chavista label.

Although 54.1% of the sample admits voting in favor of the official structure in the last 27 years, 92.1% of this segment today expresses deep regret and shame for said decision. Furthermore, 89.3% describe the era of Chavismo as a true “curse” for the nation, while 59.3% perceive an irreversible fragmentation in the regime bloc, anticipating its definitive disappearance. In judicial matters, the so-called Amnesty Law lacks popular legitimacy; 70.4% call it a “scam and mockery” against political prisoners and their families, with 87.1% demanding the strict application of punishments and criminal justice instead of indiscriminate forgiveness.

Electoral urgency and leadership

Faced with national stagnation, 74.6% rate the presidential elections as the most urgent and important process to be carried out. In a simulation of open nomination, the results confirm the hegemony of the genuine opposition: María Corina Machado leads with 69.8% of spontaneous voting intention, followed very far by Juan Pablo Guanipa with 4.9%, and Delcy Rodríguez with just 3.7%. Diosdado Cabello appears in the statistical basement with 0.6%, 11 other names accumulate 2.1% and the undecided are at 18.9%.

Economic asphyxiation and structural crisis of services

Daily life under the control of the Venezuelan regime is materially unsustainable. The real average household income is frozen at a precarious $368.15 per month (BCV rate), while the minimum cost to satisfy basic needs rises to $805.68. This generates a gap of 218.8%, which makes it impossible for families to survive with dignity.

At the same time, the electrical collapse destroys family dynamics: 81.5% of homes report blackouts perpetrated by Corpoelec four or more days per week, with an average duration of 4.73 hours per event. Faced with this scenario of apathy, 87.9% of citizens demand the radical elimination of the state corporation and the complete privatization of the service, rejecting the option of injecting more public capital (supported by only 10.5%).

Net political support rates

The polarization of leadership exhibits unequivocal numbers regarding the general acceptance and rejection of the main figures evaluated by citizens:

María Corina Machado: 72.3% support / 7.4% rejection.

Edmundo González: 45.7% support / 7.2% rejection.

Nicolás Maduro: 5.5% support / 89.8% rejection.

Delcy Rodríguez: 3.7% support / 93.1% rejection.

Diosdado Cabello: 0.6% support / 94.8% rejection.
