Shaquille O’Neil team wins NBA’s stars game and curry is the MVP

The team of Shaquille Oneal, baptized as the ‘OG’ (classics)he beat the ‘global stars’ on Sunday in the final of the renewed NBA stars game, in which Stephen Curry was chosen MVP in front of its San Francisco fans (California).

The base of the Golden State Warriors, who conquered the second MVP of his career, led the 41-25 victory against a combined that gathered Serbio Nikola Jokic, the Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the French Victor Wembanyama, who premiered In an All Star Game.

This edition, on the other hand, was the first absence of LeBron James in 21 years. The veteran Los Angeles Lakers leader, who was not lost an appointment since his second year in the NBA in 2005, announced his decline shortly before the beginning for some discomfort in the foot and ankle.

After a failed return in 2024 to the classic Duel of Conferences East and West, the NBA experienced this time with a four team scheme. Three of them were chosen by former Figures Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith, popular trio of television commentators today, and the other formed by newly arrived players to the League.

The combined collided in two semifinals and a final whose winner was the first to reach 40 points.

The great annual NBA show this time with some more intensity than in the previous years, when the lack of effort of the players was indicated by the league itself and the interest collapsed until registering the worst audience data.

“I think today was a bit more competitive than previous years and that is the main thing,” said Damian Lillard Base at the end of the game.

In turn, to prevent boredom, the NBA introduced distractions of all kinds this year during the matches, as a challenge to triples that Lillard lost to a fan in the midst of joy in the stands.

In the midst of so much interruption, the stars cost them to leave moves to the memory beyond an amazing triple from the center of the Stephen Curry track.

New format in the star game

In the first semifinal, the ‘global stars’ team led by Barkley beat Kenny Smith’s ‘young stars’ with 14 points of Gilgeous Alexander and 11 of Jokic 41-32.

In six minutes on the track, Wembanyama added 4 points and placed a monumental cap to Cunningham in an attempted dump.

Tyler Herro, Darius Garland and Evan Mobley scored 6 points each for the young stars, who had the last -hour decline in their figure Anthony Edwards for some problems in the groin.

In the second semifinal, O’Neal’s ‘OG’ beat a combined rookie players and second year that on Thursday were imposed on the ‘Rising Stars’ event (emerging stars).

Curry scored 8 points but only succeeded with 2 triples of 8 attempts. The top scorers were Lillard and James Harden, with 10 goals.

Lillard, the ‘MVP’ (most valuable player) last year, was responsible for nailing the triple winner after numerous failed attempts of his team, including an entrance to Kevin Durant basket for which he claimed the arbitrators.

Second MVP of Curry

Curry did raise his audience from the seats at the start of the final with a triple acrobatic jumping to one leg and then with another from the center of the field.

Jayson Tatum seconded him with eight points in a row that gave an advantage of 11-0 to the O’Neal team. The global team reacted with two baskets followed by Wembanyama, top scorer of its squad with 11 points, but Curry had already taken off and settled the victory with two other triples for a total of 12 goals.

His final exhibition earned the second MVP prize of his career after the one achieved in 2022.

“I appreciate having played with these guys for so long as we have done,” Curry said after hugging Kevin Durant.

“We had the obligation to give a good show and I thank you for helping me to do it in Golden State, a lot of history has passed here,” added the base, winner of four rings with the Warriors.
