Selenskyj: Russia’s refusal of a ceasefire "makes the situation more difficult"

The Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj criticized the Russian refusal of a ceasefire in the Ukraine War. “We see that Russia rejects numerous calls after a ceasefire and has not yet decided when it ends with killing,” Selenskyj wrote on online platforms on Sunday night. “That makes the situation difficult.”

If Russia does not have the will to set the attacks, then “great efforts” should be necessary to move Russia “much bigger” – to “live peaceful coexistence with his neighbors for decades,” said Selenskyj.

Russian President Vladimir Putin rejects demands for a ceasefire in the war of attack against Ukraine, which has lasted for three and a half years. After his meeting with Putin in the US state of Alaska, US President Donald Trump deployed from the demand for a ceasefire. Instead, a comprehensive “peace agreement” should be achieved directly, Trump explained.

Western allies of Ukraine fear that Russia only plays for a while and wants to achieve other military terrain in Ukraine. Negotiations for a comprehensive peace agreement would take much longer than a ceasefire that can be implemented very quickly. Trump wants to receive Selenskyj in the White House on Monday.
