Reference to cat lady Carrie Bradshaw: Sarah Jessica Parker wants to vote Democrat

Sarah Jessica Parker has spoken out in support of Kamala Harris. In her message she alluded to her series character Carrie Bradshaw.

Sarah Jessica Parker (59) expressed her support for Kamala Harris (60) with a reference to her series character Carrie Bradshaw. With an Instagram post, she supported the Democratic US presidential candidate. In this she listed reasons for her decision. Parker mentioned a “certain childless cat lady that I play on TV,” alongside points like climate, hope and science, as well as friends in the LGBTQ community.

In the picture accompanying the message, one of her cats is sitting in front of her on the window sill. Parker herself holds up a sign with the names of Harris and her running mate Tim Walz (60). With the cat lady comment, the actress wasn’t just referring to her character from “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That…”. In 2021, Donald Trump’s (78) deputy JD Vance (40) complained in a speech that the USA was being ruled “by a bunch of childless cat ladies”. They are “unhappy with their own lives and the decisions they have made” and want to transfer this to the country.

Parker already supported Biden and Obama

Before Parker, pop star Taylor Swift (34) took up the comment. The singer captioned her post in support of Harris and Walz with the words “childless cat lady.” Swift owns three cats: Olivia Benson, Meredith Gray and Benjamin Button. Parker is also a cat mom of three. Most recently, she welcomed a cat named Shoe into her family, whom she adopted as Carrie Bradshaw in “And Just Like That…”. At home, however, the cat goes by the name Lotus, as she revealed on Instagram. The newcomer joined her cats Rémy and Smila, which she and husband Matthew Broderick (62) adopted in 2022. She also shares son James (21) with him. Her twin daughters Tabitha (15) and Marion Loretta (15) were born via surrogate mother.

Parker is a long-time Democratic supporter. In 2020, she supported Joe Biden (81) and, according to the newspaper “The Hill”, helped to implement the “Mothers for Biden” initiative in Ohio. In 2012 she was seen in an election clip for former President Barack Obama (63).

Parker is currently busy filming the third season of the “Sex and the City” spin-off “And Just Like That…”. She has been in front of the camera again for the series since May. Three days ago she appeared with her co-star Kristin Davis (59) at the “God’s Love We Deliver Golden Heart Awards”. There, Parker received an award for her charitable work.
