He has Deschamps’ confidence
Despite his goalless start to the Spanish championship with Real Madrid, Mbappé “has always scored goals and will continue to score” at his new club, said France coach Didier Deschamps on Thursday.
Mbappé, who scored in the European Super Cup in his first official match as a Real Madrid player, did not take advantage of his chances against Mallorca or Real Valladolid in the first two LaLiga games.
“He’s with different players, in a different organisation, even if he has great players around him, there are always automatisms to be found, that can’t be achieved with the snap of a finger,” said Deschamps at a press conference at the headquarters of the French Football Federation (FFF), while announcing the squad for the next international window.
“But he adapts well, I’ve seen him in good shape, he has always scored goals and he will continue to score,” he added.
“Obviously, there are even greater demands there (at Real Madrid), but he has everything necessary to do well, and even very well,” concluded Didier Deschamps.
