MADRID.- The Croatian midfielder of real Madrid, Luka Modrichis march of the white club announced on Thursday after Club World Cupwhich will be played in the United States, after thirteen seasons and with six champion league titles in its record.
“The time has come. The moment I never wanted me to arrive, but so is football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end … on Saturday I will play my last game at Santiago Bernabéu,” Modric wrote, 39, in his Instagram account.
“I arrived in 2012 with the illusion of dressing the shirt of the best team in the world and with the ambition to do great things, but I could not imagine what came later,” added the Balkan, who won the Golden Ball in 2018.
“Playing at Real Madrid changed my life as a footballer and as a person. I feel proud to have been part of one of the most successful times of the best club in history,” said Modric, who thanked President Florentino Pérez, his teammates and coaches.

During his period as a Madrid player, Modric has conquered 28 titles: six champion leagues, six club World Cups, five European Super Cups, 4 Spanish Leagues, 2 King Cups and 5 Super Cups of Spain.
“Throughout these years I have lived incredible, comeback moments that seemed impossible, endings, celebrations and magical nights in the Bernabéu … we have won everything and I have been very happy. Very, very happy,” he said.
“But beyond the titles and victories, I take in my heart the love of all the Madrid players,” said Modric, who has played 590 meetings and scored 43 goals with the capital painting.
The Blanca entity also communicated its march immediately after: “Real Madrid CF and our Captain Luka Modric have agreed to end an unforgettable stage as a player of our club at the end of the Club World Cup that our team will play from June 18 in the United States.”
Tribute
Modric has gone down as one of the five players who has raised six European Cups (2014, 2017, 2018, 2022 and 2024) throughout his career), but also as the player with the largest number of titles in the 123 years of life of Real Madrid.
