Kamala Harris: A woman in the White House? Is this a question that needs to be asked?

Kamala Harris would be the first female president of the USA. The first black woman. The first with Asian and Caribbean roots. Is that too much, some are asking. Really, America?

As soon as it became clear that Kamala Harris would be the Democratic presidential candidate, and the first wave of euphoria had swept over the party, the questions began to arise: Is America really ready for a woman in the White House? Can she stand up to Trump’s sexist battalion? Won’t she lose the crucial swing states because white men in the Rust Belt will never vote for a woman, let alone a black woman?
