About five hours before Joe Biden’s big appearance, Bernie Sanders sits in an outbuilding on the party convention grounds in the west of Chicago and gives insights into his inner life. He reports on a conversation they had with Biden a few weeks ago. The president is doing well, says the senator from Vermont, but Biden is also “disappointed that he is not the candidate again.”
