At her mother Amalija Knavs’ funeral, Melania Trump said goodbye with emotional words.
The former and possibly future First Lady Melania Trump (53) had to bury her mother Amalija Knavs last Thursday (January 18th). At the funeral at the Church of Bethesda-By-The-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida, she delivered an emotional eulogy in honor of the deceased. Knavs was “the epicenter of elegance and grace” and embodied the “essence of a true woman,” Fox News quotes from the speech.
Melania Trump went on to say: “Her love for her husband and my father, Viktor, as well as for my sister Ines and me, knew no bounds. Her caring spirit was infinite and created a legacy that will last for generations.” She also always showed her grandson Barron, Donald and Melania Trump’s child, only “love, care and unwavering devotion.” “She embodied the best mother, wife, grandmother and mother-in-law.”
“Rest in peace”
Melania Trump also talked about her mother’s career, who trained as a seamstress. Knavs was “a creator of dreams” – “I will forever be grateful for the beauty that she brought into my life.” How she was able to manage household and career at the same time was a skill that underlined Knav’s “resilience and determination.” She ended her speech with the words: “Rest in peace, my beloved mother.”
Melania Trump’s husband Donald (77) and son Barron (17) were also present at the funeral. Her stepdaughters Ivanka (42) and Tiffany Trump (30) also paid their last respects to the deceased. On January 10th Melania communicated via Xthat her mother died at the age of 78. An exact cause of death is not known. However, Knavs was recently “very ill,” as Donald Trump explained during a New Year’s Eve celebration at his Mar-a-Lago estate in the US state of Florida.
