“Both the CF Pachuca and the Leon Club breach the criteria on the property of several teams (…) of the Club World Cup regulations,” added FIFA.

Article 10.1 of that regulation of the tournament stipulates that no participant in the competition may “possess values ​​or actions of any other club participating in the competition or trade with them.”

The Alajuelense, Costa Rican team, had denounced the participation of the two Mexican clubs in the World Cup, whose first edition will be played from June 15 to July 13 in the United States and will feature 32 teams from all confederations.
