The star Dominican batter of the Red Sox of Boston, Rafael Deversdoes not show concern despite a complicated beginning in the 2025 season of the MLB.
In the first two games, Devers has struck out in seven of his eight shifts to bat, including four strikeouts in Friday’s defeat against the Texas Rangers.
“There have only been two games,” said Devers through an interpreter, according to Nesn.
The Dominican Devers adapts to his new role as a designated batter
The 28 -year -old faces a great change in his career, since the red socks have decided to make him a designated batter (DH) full time, leaving his usual position in the third base to give space to the new signing, Alex Bregman.
“I know I have not done my job and I know that I have not done what I should do,” said Devers. “But I know everything will change.”
Throughout his eight -year career in the MLB, Devers had only played 21 games as a designated batter, so this adjustment represents a challenge in his offensive performance. However, Boston’s manager, Alex Cora, confirmed that Devers will be the full -time DH and that he will not occupy the third base, even when Bregman needs rest.
Boston’s red socks trust that Devers will quickly adapt to their new role and recover their usual level of play on the plate.
Although in the red socks they believe that Bregman will play forever in the prelude, leaving the Dominican aside.
