For a good time, Jalen Ramsey remained silent about his departure from the Miami Dolphins. It was well known that the relationship between cornerback and the organization had not ended in the best terms, but the reasons were relatively unknown, until this Wednesday the player chose to explain his version.
In a recent appearance in the “Pivot” podcast, Ramsey made it clear that he has no problems with the organization as such, although he cannot say the same of his coach, Mike McDaniel.
Although he did not mention his name, the former Dolphins highlighted something that has become a growing concern within the team’s fanatic: McDaniel’s style does not seem to be the pleasure of the majority.
“I am grateful to the Dolphins and that they have worked with me,” Ramsey said. “We are going to a team that is able to compete. We go to a team in which there is a lot of respect for the main coach,” he added.
It is not something that Miami’s fans must necessarily surprise, because McDaniel’s leadership has been questioned for more than a year. Frequently, players are late for training and meetings; In fact, some do not even appear.
Change in sight?
Until now, in 2025 things have been a bit different, because the Dolphins have focused on changing the bad habits of the past and that each member of the combined is responsible a little more for their mistakes.
However, it is difficult to forecast if that will be enough to completely change the culture of the team, which puts McDaniel at risk.
The Tight End Tanner Conner spoke with the press recently and stressed that Miami left the players who did not show respect for the instructor. But the only one who seems able to change that situation in the team is McDaniel himself, starting to break the belief that his philosophy is based more on being friends with his players, instead of serving as a leader within the institution.
