“The Columbia University has reached an agreement with the US government to end the investigations by the federal authorities due to alleged violations of federal laws on the fight against discrimination,” said the university on Wednesday (local time). According to the agreement, “the majority of the federal subsidies deleted in March 2025” will also be provided for the university, it continued.

Trump accuses the renowned Columbia University and other educational institutions, while the nationwide protests in connection with the Gaza War have not been against anti-Semitism. Columbia University had reduced the government for anti -Semitism and its failure to protect Jewish students in the amount of $ 400 million (the equivalent of around 369.2 million euros).
The university then agreed to a number of reforms to get the funds back. This triggered outrage for many students.
Last year, numerous US universities, including Columbia University, were the scene of violent anti-Israeli protests in connection with the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the subsequent Gaza War.
