HOUSTON.- Cristiano Ronaldo made history by becoming the first footballer to score in six World Cups, after scoring the goal that opened the scoring in Portugal’s match against Uzbekistan in Group K of the 2026 World Cup.
The “Comandante” scored in the sixth minute with a right foot from the center of the area that shook the Houston Stadium, a venue where the goal eluded him in his debut against the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
At 41 years old, CR7 has to his credit a goal in Germany 2006, one in South Africa 2010, one in Brazil 2014, four in Russia 2018 and one in Qatar 2022 and, for now, one in North America 2026 and surpasses in this record the Argentine star Lionel Messi, who scored in all of them except South Africa.
