When it comes to political matters, US singer Cher (78) doesn’t mince her words. During the 2020 US presidential election campaign, she loudly supported the Democratic duo Joe Biden (81) and Kamala Harris (60). Last year she announced in interviews that she would leave the USA if Donald Trump (78) was actually elected president again.
Around two weeks before the upcoming presidential election on November 5th, she once again promoted the Democratic candidate Harris and her deputy Tim Walz (60) via her wide-reaching social media channels.
Cher: “I’m proud to vote for Kamala Harris”
In a video statement published there, she spoke to the camera with a determined expression: “I have followed Kamala Harris since she was my US Senator. She fought for me then and she fights for all of us now. That’s why I’m proud Voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, I know they will fight to protect our rights and I am so grateful to be able to vote this year.” She concluded her message to her fans with the powerful words: “I hope you will do the same.”
Cher is by no means the only US artist to publicly support Kamala Harris and actively support her in the election campaign against Trump. Her prominent colleagues such as Taylor Swift (34), Billie Eilish (22), Bruce Springsteen (75), Usher (46) and Lizzo (36) are also publicly calling for people to vote against Trump and for Harris in the election.
