BARCELONA-. Recovered from a right foot injury, Ansu Fati He was discharged from hospital on Wednesday and is the big news in the squad Barcelona for his debut in the Champions League against Monaco.
The 21-year-old striker has been included in the squad for Thursday’s clash in the principality, which would be his first game for the Spanish club this season.
Fati suffered the injury during training just days after returning to the club after playing on loan with Brighton last season.
He has not played for Barcelona since 2023.
Coach Hansi Flick, in his first season with Barça, will be without several key signings due to injuries: Dani Olmo, Gavi, Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong.
“I think Ansu Fati is ready to play and when he is ready he could play 45 minutes,” Flick said. “I know what his best position is but I won’t say. When he is on the pitch, he really enjoys training, he has scored a lot of goals. So we need players like Ansu who can score goals.”
