Inter Miami maintained its great moment in the MLS by defeating CF Montreal 1-0 this Saturday at the Saputo Stadium, in a match marked by the debut of Brazilian Casemiro and the absence of Lionel Messi, who continues to rest in Argentina after the World Cup.
The only goal of the match came in the 81st minute, when Uruguayan Luis Suárez converted a penalty after a hard foul on Mexican striker Germán Berterame inside the area. The attacker had to leave the field of play in an ambulance due to a severe blow to the head.
After the game, coach Guillermo Hoyos confirmed that Berterame was conscious and was evolving favorably. The Mexican was transferred to a medical center for studies.
With his goal, Suárez extended his excellent scoring streak to six goals in his last three games and reached nine goals in the current MLS season.
One of the great attractions of the commitment was Casemiro’s debut with the Inter Miami shirt. The experienced Brazilian midfielder controlled the pace of the match from the middle of the pitch and showed the balance he hopes to bring to the team.

The match offered few emotions in front of the goals. Daniel Ríos wasted a clear opportunity for Montreal, while Venezuelan Telasco Segovia came close to putting Miami ahead with a powerful shot that hit the post during the second half.
