María Corina Machado: “It is time to return to Venezuela”

MIAMI. Opposition leader María Corina Machado stated that “it is time to return to Venezuela,” due to what happened in her country as a result of the double seismic event that occurred on June 24.

Machado noted: “The time has come. It is my duty to accompany my people. We need to be together to hug each other, to grieve and cry together, but also to give strength to each other in this difficult time.” The statements were given in an interview on FoxNews.

He added: “We pray that God gives us strength to move forward, to do our work now. The absolute priority is to save lives and, certainly, to comfort and help those who have been harmed. I will be back very soon in Venezuela, along with the Venezuelan people.”

The opposition leader had meditated on the decision for several days and even, according to journalistic reports, she had informed Washington, whose senior officials would not have approved it.

It is even noted that he tried to travel through Curacao, but canceled the itinerary because the Trump administration made it clear to the authorities of the Dutch island, the Venezuelan authorities and Machado’s team in the US that it did not support his return to Venezuela at this time.

One of the difficulties of the opposition leader is that apparently she does not have a valid passport, therefore, her entry into the South American country could be considered illegal.

The national coordinator of Vente Venezuela, Henry Alviarez, this Saturday, June 27, in relation to Machado’s return to his homeland, that they were coordinating the actions, but that more important than the return was to resolve the problems caused by the earthquakes.
