Brazil scores, delivers and goes as leader of group C

MIAMI.- This Wednesday, Brazil validated its place in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup as first in Group C by beating Scotland 3-0 in Miami, in a match in which star Neymar made his debut in the tournament.

With seven points, Canarinha finishes leader of the key with the same units as Morocco, winner of Haiti (4-2), but with a better goal difference (6 against 3).

Two goals from Vinicius Júnior (7′, 45+3′) and the rest from Matheus Cunha (60′) gave Canarinha the victory at the Hard Rock Stadium.

Brazil will play on Monday in Houston in the round of 32 against the second in Group F, led by the Netherlands and Japan with the last round remaining.

Scotland, for its part, finished in third place in Group C with three units and will have to wait for the definition of the other series to know if it advances to the second round as one of the eight best third parties.

Brazil did not have to work hard to dominate a willing Scotland, but guilty of serious errors at the back and without solutions in attack.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men gave themselves to the offensive trident formed by Vinícius, Cunha and the young Rayan, dangerous with the ball and intense in the pressure.

Added to them was the good performance of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, author of two assists.

With the 3-0 in their pocket, the Auriverde fans only had one wish left to fulfill and Ancelotti granted it in the 76th minute. A roar in the stands anticipated what was happening: Neymar, the star who had missed the start of the World Cup due to injury, was about to replace Cunha.

The 10 didn’t manage to do much, just a safe shot, but no one cared. With him on the court, the Brazilian party was complete.

Morocco advances second

A street runner full of opportunities was the spectacle that spectators enjoyed this Wednesday in Atlanta in the 4-2 victory of Morocco, which qualified for the round of 32 of the World Cup as second in Group C behind Brazil, and Haiti, already eliminated and leaving with its head held high.

Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou with an own goal (10′) and Wilson Isidor (43′) twice put Haiti ahead, responded by Morocco thanks to goals from their captain Achraf Hakimi (39′) and Ismael Saibari (45+1′).

In the second half Soufiane Rahimi, who had come on as a catalyst, scored the third (78′) and advanced Gessime Yassine in the fourth (89′).
