After the G7 summit in Evian, France, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed the results with US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron. Zelenskyj explained on Wednesday evening on the online service

“I am grateful to President Trump for his attention to Ukraine and his willingness to help bring peace closer,” Zelensky said. Ukraine is working to improve cooperation and prospects for diplomatic solutions. “We need peace. And we are doing everything to bring it closer,” the Ukrainian leader added.

The G7 states, which, in addition to the USA and France, also include Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Canada and Japan, reaffirmed their “unwavering support for Ukraine” in the war against Russia at their summit. They pledged to expand the delivery of air defense capabilities, additional systems and interceptors, and long-range capabilities. At the same time, the seven influential industrialized states want to “increase the pressure on the Russian war economy” through further sanctions.
