The president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, warned this Wednesday that he will resume attacks against Iran, and noted that Tehran’s peace negotiators “continue to take us for idiots.”
President Trump’s statements come after the US responded with powerful attacks after the downing of a US helicopter, which further strained the truce that came into effect in April.
The impotence and desperation of the Iranian terrorists is increasingly visible due to the consequences of the naval blockade implemented by the US for weeks.
“We’re going to hit them… hit them very hard,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “We were really close to an agreement, but they keep ignoring us and taking us for idiots.”
Trump announces stronger attacks against the regime
The United States indicated on Tuesday that it had attacked Iran in retaliation for Iran’s downing of the Apache helicopter on Monday, whose two crew members were rescued.
Trump said he could order Iranian bridges and power plants to be attacked, something he had originally threatened just before the ceasefire but stopped in pursuit of a deal.
“I’m not going to tell you. But I can do it,” Trump said when asked by an AFP reporter about a Fox News report that he was weighing those plans.
The United States reported this Wednesday that it shot at an oil tanker and put it out of service in the Gulf of Oman when it tried to transport oil from Iran in violation of Washington’s blockade of Iranian ports.
