President Trump did not give specific details, but suggested that his country’s intelligence services have precise information
New York.– The president of the United States, Donald Trump, affirmed that there is a “high probability” that he knows where the new supreme leader of Iran, Mokhtaba Khamenei, is, whom he described as a “more rational” figure than his predecessor.
In an interview given to the NBC network, recorded on Friday and broadcast this Sunday, the US president analyzed the succession in power in Tehran after the outbreak of the armed conflict and revealed that Mojtaba Khamenei is “quite badly injured” after the attack in which his father died.
“Younger, I think, and more rational. Injured; he is quite badly injured. So there is a certain bravery there,” Trump said when asked about the characteristics of the new head of the Islamic regime.
Mokhtaba Khamenei, who succeeded his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has not appeared in public since he was injured in the Israeli bombing that killed his father during the first day of hostilities.
The US president did not give specific details, but suggested that his country’s intelligence services have precise information.
“I don’t want to say whether or not I know where he is, but there’s a good chance he does,” Trump noted.
The president also said that Iran “has some missiles and some drones left.”
“I would say, percentage-wise, maybe 21-22% of their missiles are smart missiles, but that’s not what it was when we first attacked,” Trump said.
Trump said Iran has “no choice” but to negotiate with Washington, but that it has not accepted a deal to end the war because its leaders are “strong” and “proud.”
