According to reports from the Economic and Fiscal Crime Unit (UDEF) of the Spanish National Police, businessmen linked to the Colombian Alex Saab would have channeled funds to corporate structures in Spain related to people trusted by the former president of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
A series of journalistic and police investigations published by The Objective revealed details of a complex financial network that connects power figures in Venezuela with the entourage of the former president of the Spanish Government, today facing justice.
The central axis of these operations in European territory is Carlos Alberto Parra Delgado, a Spanish citizen born in Venezuela, who acts as legal representative in Spain of Jorge Andrés Jiménez Ochoa, current president of the Venezuelan Football Federation.
The investigations indicate that Jiménez, identified as a financial operator close to Delcy Rodríguez, assumed a leading economic role in the management of state businesses, particularly in the oil sector after the fall of Tarek El Aissami’s structure, serving as a replacement for the capital movements previously dominated by Alex Saab after his arrest in 2020.
The Spanish police closely follow the movements of the company FBF Operaciones Globales SL, created by Jiménez to manage assets, as well as the firm Apamate Corporate and Trust, managed by Parra Delgado together with his partner Óscar Cunto André, which allegedly served to channel funds from Venezuela to Europe, evading regulatory controls and legal exposure.
The tracking of these operations gained strength after the analysis of the mobile phone of Julio Martínez Martínez, considered by Spanish agents to be Zapatero’s alleged front man.
In this device, communications were detected with the deceased Chavista banker Francisco Flores, who facilitated contracts that led to the transfer of 145,200 euros to Zapatero’s entourage from the company SH Gestor SL, controlled by Parra Delgado. These financial movements temporarily coincide with the controversial trip that Delcy Rodríguez made to Madrid, in whose official delegation Jorge Jiménez participated.
