“It is the most serious case of corruption in football,” insisted the president of Real Madrid, in an appearance in which he announced the call for elections and his candidacy for re-election.
“We couldn’t imagine, really, that Barcelona would distribute money to the head of the referees,” said Pérez.
“I have only won 7 Champions Leagues and 7 leagues, I could have won 14 because the others have been stolen from me,” added the president of Real Madrid.
In the so-called “Negreira” case, the justice system investigates alleged payments by Barcelona to companies José María Enriquez Negreiraformer number two of the referees.
