Yulimar Rojas is reborn and aims for gold at the 2026 Indoor World Cup

The queen of the triple jump is back. The Venezuelan Yulimar Rojas arrives at world athletics on the indoor track of Torun 2026 with a statement that sums up her moment: “I am a new Yulimar, reborn from the ashes.”

After almost two years marked by a serious Achilles tendon injury, the Olympic champion returns with strength and confidence, leading the world ranking of the year with a jump of 14.95 meters. Everything indicates that she is once again the great favorite to win the gold.

A champion who wants to regain her throne

The Indoor World Cup is a special competition for Rojas. There she has been champion three times (2016, 2018 and 2022), and it was precisely in Belgrade where she achieved her historic world record of 15.74 meters, a mark that is still in force.

His recent path has not been easy. From September 2023 until her return at the 2025 Tokyo Outdoor World Cup – where she won a bittersweet bronze – the Venezuelan had to rebuild herself physically and mentally.

Now, in Poland, he wants more than just competing: he wants to dominate again.

Duplantis and other stars accompany the show

Although the Latin focus will be on Rojas, the World Cup will also feature figures such as the Swede Armand Duplantis, who arrives after breaking his own world record with 6.31 meters and is seeking his fourth indoor title.

Names such as:

Keely Hodgkinson, favorite in the 800 meters after breaking the indoor world record

Kishane Thompson, candidate for gold in the 60 meters

Mohamed Attaoui, one of the Spanish hopes

Yulimar Rojas leads the Latin American illusion

Beyond Rojas, Latin America will also have a leading role in the triple jump with the Cuban Leyanis Pérez, current champion, who will try to defend her crown against the direct threat of the Venezuelan.

In men, the Cuban Lázaro Martínez and the Italian of Cuban origin Andy Díaz promise a high-level final.

Important absences in the championship

The indoor World Cup will also be marked by several weight losses, including:

Noah Lyles

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone

Femke Bol

Jakob Ingebrigtsen

The Torun 2026 Indoor World Cup not only marks the beginning of the athletic calendar, but also the possible definitive rebirth of Yulimar Rojas.

The Venezuelan doesn’t just compete: she shows that, even after falling, legends always fly higher again.
