Debate
Given the controversy, the INAH said that for Mrbeast to carry out the tour, he had to record a series of permits and had authorized personnel to enter the protected areas, which guaranteed respect for the care and safety measures of both visitors and the ecosystem.
Likewise, the institution clarified that the material was recorded at the request of the Federal Tourism Secretariat and the rulers of Yucatán and Campeche.
“The tours were made in public access areas and without affecting the entry of visitors. In the case of Calakmul, the sub -structure of building II was also visited, which although it is not an area open to the public permanently, it does provide access by processing, in advance and justification, a scheduled visit,” says a statement.
The entity also pointed out that the use of drones, pre -Hispanic masks and a helicopter, in addition to supposedly staying for 100 hours on the site, was due to an audiovisual postproduction work, asserting that in the clip it is referred to situations that did not happen.
“They are false assertions that obey the theatricality of the youtuber,” continues the text.
However, Infobae said that the Federal Ministry of Culture confirmed representatives of the medium in Mexico that they will investigate the facts to apply sanctions if it is established that there were irregularities in the YouTuber recordings.
