Xabi Alonso on Vinicius’ anger during the Classic: “We will talk about it”

MADRID.- The technician of the real Madrid, Xabi Alonsostated this Sunday that he is left with “many positive things” about the Brazilian Vinicius in his team’s victory against FC Barcelona (2-1) at the Santiago Bernabéu, although he wants to talk in the locker room about the player’s anger after being substituted in the last stretch of the game.

“I am left with many positive things about Vini’s game and we will talk about it, but I do not want to lose focus on what is important. These are things that we will save,” Alonso declared at a press conference.

The Brazilian striker left the field in the 73rd minute, visibly upset and going to the locker room with fuss, while his compatriot entered. Rodrygo.

“These are things that we will talk about and within the great match that has been, Vini has contributed a lot for an important, deserved and even short victory,” added Alonso.

Asked if he has had someone with as much character as Vinicius on the bench, Alonso stressed that the matter will be dealt with behind closed doors.

“Within the squad there are different personalities. Now we will enjoy it and, in due course, we will talk about it in the locker room,” he stressed.

The Basque coach stressed that now it’s time to enjoy the victory. “I’m very happy for the boys. They needed this feeling of winning a big game,” he explained before highlighting the importance of winning the game.

“We were talking about it beforehand, how important the game was. Not only because of the three points, but because of what a victory could mean, deserving it,” he said.

“The responsibility of this match. Not only for the three points, but because it will be very good for us to grow. There is a lot left. Enjoy and calm,” he added.

Regarding the tension, Alonso pointed out that he interprets it “very normally. “You don’t have to do too many readings.”

Harsh environment for Yamal

The German Marcus Sorg, second coach of FC Barcelona and who replaced the suspended Hansi Flick in the Clásico against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu (2-1), admitted on Sunday that the hostile environment could have harmed Lamine Yamal.

“It may be that (the whistles) affected him. Maybe a little. Because he is learning to deal with the public, the whistles (…). It is true that he is normally very motivated and today (Sunday) was not very easy for him,” declared Sorg at a press conference after the Catalans’ defeat.

Before the match, the stands criticized the player for his recent statements about Real Madrid in which he stated: “They steal and complain…”.
