With further uranium enrichment: Trump threatens Iran with new attacks

US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with new air raids if the country continued to enrich uranium. When asked by a journalist, whether he is planning new attacks in the event of corresponding secret service knowledge, Trump said in Washington on Friday: “Undoubtedly”. He threw Iran’s spiritual head of Ayatollah Ali Chamenei at the same time ungratefulness, because he had preserved it from a “very ugly and disgrace death”.

Chamenei had defiantly showed itself in a video message on Thursday and said that the United States had “achieved nothing” with its attacks on three nuclear locations in Iran from the weekend. Trump now apparently angered this. In his online service Truth Social, he wrote that it was a “lie” when Chamenei said that he had won the war against Israel. Rather, he – Trump – held Israel from bombing the hiding place of the Ayatollah, which he knew.

Israel’s Minister of Defense Israel Katz confirmed the intention of the killing of Chameneis: “If we had his sights, we would have turned it off,” said Katz in the radio station.

Trump’s threat of new attacks does not indicate a clear strategy. Previously, the president had insisted on the fact that the weekend’s US air attacks had completely destroyed and “wiped out” the enrichment facilities in Iran. Iran also had no opportunity to get an enriched uranium to safety in advance, the White House declared media reports that had questioned the extent of the destruction. If this information from Washington applies, the United States would have no reason for new attacks.

At the NATO summit in the Haag, Trump had also announced new nuclear negotiations with Tehran for the coming week. However, it is still unclear whether and when these take place. “Iran wants to meet,” said Trump in Washington. The Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghtschi, on the other hand, denied Tehran to return to the negotiating table.

Araghtschi reacted critically to the demand of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities by inspectors. Iran’s Foreign Minister wrote in the online service X.

The Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar defended the twelve -day war against Iran. The global community now has the “duty” to keep Iran from building an atomic bomb, he asked for X.
