Why is Friday the 13th considered a day of bad luck?

MIAMI.– A Friday 13, as today, is considered black friday and especially bad luck in countries with Anglo-Saxon culture, where this day of the calendar is associated with the appearance of a strange disease in people classified as superstitious and with events that ordinarily inspire fear.

In general, the number 13 is considered a “bad omen” due to a mythological event that is not widely known. It is said that at a banquet in Valhalla, the god of deception Loki was the one whothirteenth to arrive and tricked Hoor into unintentionally killing his brother Balder, god of light and goodness, according to reports.

But Friday the 13th is related to historical and cultural events, although there is no specific fact that explains its origin and association with “bad luck” which has another explanation in other countries.

For example, in Iberian and Latin American culture the “bad luck” day is not Friday, but Tuesday the 13th. “Ni te casa ni te embarques” (Neither get married nor embark on a journey) is repeated on that day in Spanish-speaking countries.

Why is Friday the 13th “bad luck”?

First of all, the belief in “bad luck” has been fueled by stories in books and movies, such as Friday the 13tha trailer which still causes terror.
