We turn 72 years of an essential work

It was July 4, 1953. During the 1950s, Miami began to become a key point for Spanish -speaking immigrants, especially for Cubans, Central Americans and South Americans who were looking for economic opportunities or fled from authoritarian regimes.

In that context, and that of the lead plates with which in those years the miracle of printing was achieved, at the initiative of the brothers Horacio and Francisco Aguirre Baca came to light the first copy of Diario Las Américas, pioneer of the press in Spanish in the state of Florida.

Fulfilling 72 years for a means of communication in these times, rather than a challenge, constitutes a survival testimony.
