PARIS.- “We are ready,” assured the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantinoin a video published this Wednesday by the football entity, less than a month before the start of the North America World Cup 2026 (June 11 – July 19).
“The preparations are going very well, the expectation is increasing. We have been waiting for several years for that kickoff (on June 11 at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City) which will arrive soon and it is time for this to begin. We are ready to open our doors and welcome the world,” said the Italian-Swiss leader.
“More than six million fans in the stadiums, tens of millions around the 16 host cities, in three magnificent countries, and 6 billion people at home will watch the games. Get ready, we are,” he continued.
“What we want is to unite the world, our world needs it,” he also stated.
“We are working on the opening ceremony, in which we will celebrate football, but also music. We have exceptional artists who will perform at Mexico, Canada and USA so that football and music unite the world,” he added.
For the first time in the history of this competition, the World Cup will begin with three opening ceremonies prior to the first matches of the three organizing nations: Mexico, the United States and Canada.
