The Secret Service responsible for the protection of the US President shot an armed man near the White House in Washington on Sunday night.
The man was then admitted to the hospital, said the security service spokesman, Anthony Guglielmi. The man’s health is “not known”.
Secret service by police forces warned
According to the information, the officials of the Secret Service were warned by local police officers that a “suicide -prone” man from the state of Indiana was on the way to Washington. The person’s car was then discovered a street block from the White House. When agents approached the man, he pulled a firearm.
This was followed by the “armed argument”, according to the spokesman, during which the officials of the Secret Service fired the shots on the man.
President Donald Trump was not on site at the time of the incident because he spends the weekend on his residence in Florida.
