Since the announcement of the National Electoral Council in the early hours of last Monday, in which they appointed Nicolas Maduro as the winner of the presidential elections VenezuelaDespite countless irregularities in the electoral process, a large number of Venezuelan athletes have taken to social media to request that the will of the people be respected.
Among them are a good number of players from the national soccer team that recently played in the Copa América in the United States, with an outstanding performance that led to the team led by Argentine Fernando “Bocha” Batista achieving a perfect first phase in which they earned the nine possible points for the first time in their history.
However, a recent report suggests that the Vinotinto warriors will not continue to raise their voices against the electoral fraud of Maduro and company, after journalist Daniel Nohra pointed out that they have received threats by the president of the Venezuelan Football Federation, Jorge Giménez.
“Jorge Giménez’s main concern is the economic issue, with the capital that the Federation uses today for the team to compete,” Nohra said in conversation with EVTV Miami. “Giménez has to understand the position that the players are in, very committed, not only to Batista’s project, but to the country.”
