The sport of paddle tennis continues to gain ground in Venezuela. Pickleball, a discipline that combines tennis, ping pong and badminton, has become a tool for well-being, inclusion and national pride. This weekend, three big news items consolidate its expansion and social impact.
Sport with a purpose: tournament to benefit SenosAyuda
On Saturday, October 25, the courts of the Venezuelan Tennis Federation in Santa Rosa de Lima will be the scene of the “Pickleball & TotalTenis” Tournament, a sports and solidarity day to benefit the SenosAyuda Foundation.
More than 120 players will participate in this initiative that unites the tennis and pickleball communities within the framework of pink month, with the aim of raising funds for the early detection of breast cancer.
“These types of activities not only generate awareness, but also hope. They show us that sport can also save lives and mobilize solidarity,” said Vanessa Ochoa, director of SenosAyuda.
The event will have the support of private companies, sports institutions and allies that have joined this cause that combines health, well-being and community.
National pride: Venezuela in the World Pickleball Cup – Florida 2025
From October 28 to November 2, Venezuela will participate for the second time in the World Pickleball Cup, which will be held this year in Florida, USA, with the presence of 68 countries.
The national delegation will be made up of 28 athletes, distributed in the Sub-50, +50, +65 and international categories, highlighting the participation of Jorge Andrew, a Venezuelan tennis legend, who will compete in the +65 division.
The matches will be broadcast by Telemundo Deportes, marking a new step in the international projection of Venezuelan pickleball.
“Our country arrives more prepared and with a more solid team. We bring talent, commitment and the hope of proudly representing the colors of Venezuela,” said Leon Stango, president of the Venezuelan delegation.
A new chapter: the Venezuela PickleTour is born
The growth of pickleball in the country takes a historic step with the launch of the Venezuela PickleTour (VPT), the first official national circuit, which will debut in December 2025.
The VPT will bring together players of all levels – from amateur to advanced – and will include open categories by gender and age, including +40 divisions. Starting in 2026, the tour will travel through five cities: Caracas, Maracay, Valencia, Maracaibo and Porlamar, with seven tournaments that will integrate local sports communities, promoting tourism and the wellness economy.
“The PickleTour Venezuela is not just a competition, it is a movement. We want to leave a mark in each city and connect generations through sport,” said Frank Penoth, VPT logistics director.
The sport that unites, cares and transforms
Pickleball in Venezuela is no longer just a sport: it is a hug in motion. A way to remind us that we still know how to come together for something good. When the court becomes a cause, the game stops being competition and becomes hope. And there, in that sum of wills, the country also wins.
