JEDDAH.- The Uruguayan midfielder real MadridFederico Valverde, expressed this Saturday the feelings of the white team by ensuring that he wants revenge on Sunday in the final of the Spanish Super Cup against the Barcelonaafter the win in the last Classic.
“There is a lot of desire for revenge after 0-4. It was difficult to sleep that day because we did not expect to lose like that. The first half we had opportunities to score and in the second half they came out better and we did not do things well. That gave us a lot of desire and strength to move forward and become the team we are today,” said Valverde in the press conference prior to the clash.
Regarding the state of mind, the Uruguayan underlined the form of his team: “We are doing very well after the first months and tomorrow we have a good opportunity to gain confidence.”
Valverde was elusive about the precautionary measure to Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor that the Higher Sports Council has granted so that they can continue playing with Barça.
“What is foreign to me does not belong to me. My duty is to defend Madrid, my club. If I put myself in their situation, it is hard, it is difficult… Always, as a player, you want to play. It is difficult to train knowing that you can’t play,” said Valverde.
Ancelotti avoids controversy
The Italian coach of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, avoided entering into the controversy this Saturday about the possible lineup of Dani Olmo after being registered again as a Barcelona player.
“He is a great player, very strong… He will play and we must take away the quality he has with our defense,” Ancelotti said at a press conference, focusing on the sporting aspect.
Olmo, along with his teammate Pau Víctor, received the precautionary measure from the Higher Sports Council (CSD), a state body, so that he can continue playing competitions with the Catalan team.
