US President Biden Nominated US ambassador in Ukraine resigns

The US ambassador in Ukraine nominated by US President Joe Biden has resigned. Briget Brink will leave her post in Kiev after almost three years, the spokeswoman for the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, said on Thursday. “We are working to stop this war and that is our focus,” said Bruce to journalists.

Brink performed “extraordinary achievements” in Kiev in her three years, explained Bruce. “We wish her all the best,” she added. Career Diplomat Brink was appointed to office by Biden and had started her post in May 2022. Since then she had appeared as a strong supporter of Ukraine.

Since US President Donald Trump’s re-enactment, the relationship between the USA and Ukraine has been tense. At the end of February, Trump had accused the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in front of ongoing cameras for a lack of gratitude for US arms deliveries. For weeks, Trump has been unsuccessfully trying to achieve a ceasefire in the Ukraine war, which has been going on for more than three years.
