Uncertainty over Tesla megafactory in NL – El Financiero

Recent developments at Tesla, headed by Elon Muskhave raised concerns about the planned megafactory in Nuevo Leon. Although attention has focused on the delay in the launch of its robotaxi, which was postponed from August to October to perfect prototypes, this change could have broader repercussions.

Initial optimism over the robotaxi announcement had boosted Tesla’s stock, but news of the delay caused an immediate drop of more than 6 percent in its shares. This type of volatility highlights the complexity and challenges that the company faces in its expansion projects, including the construction of the mega-plant in Nuevo León.

Rumors of the plant being cancelled or postponed have begun to circulate, fueled by global uncertainty and Tesla’s recent schedule adjustments. These rumors, though unconfirmed, could have a significant impact on both the local economy and Tesla’s perception in international markets.

The megafactory in Nuevo León is seen as a key project for Tesla’s growth in Latin America, promising not only an expansion of its production capacity but also a significant economic boost for the region. Any change in Tesla’s plans could therefore alter expectations and strategies at a local and global level.

The investment community and the stakeholders Locals will be watching closely for further statements from Musk and his team to clarify the future of the megafactory and its implications for regional development and innovation in the automotive industry.
