After another Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian oil pipeline Druschba, possible effects for the East German PCK refinery in Schwedt are checked. This was said by a spokesman for the operator Rosneft Germany on DPA request. Hungary, a recipient of oil from the druschba (friendship), reported a failure of deliveries. Prime Minister Viktor Orban called US President Donald Trump for help against the Kiev. Slovakia also complained.
Ukraine attacked the Unetcha pumping station in the West Russian area of Brjansk on Thursday evening, as the commander of the drone troops, Robert Bowdi, announced on Telegram. He did not provide precise information on damage. He added a video that supposedly showed a huge fire in Unotcha. Russian bodies did not initially comment.
Where is the oil from Kazakhstan?
PCK in Schwedt on the Oder no longer obtains Russian oil, but receives oil from Kazakhstan in the transit. It must be clarified whether the next delivery has already passed this pumping station, said Rosneft spokesman Burkhard Woelki in Berlin. The Kazakh side in coordination with the Russian pipeline operator Transneft is responsible for the pumpple.
According to Woelki, Rosneft Germany imports 120,000 tons of oil from Kazakhstan per month. The daughter of the largest oil company in Russia has been under federal administration since 2022 due to the Moscow War of Agency against Ukraine. The Ministry of Energy in Kazakhstan announced that the oil exports were not disturbed by the attack on the oil management, as the state Russian news agency reported TASS.
Hungary expects five days of failure
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto wrote on Facebook that the flow of oil to Hungary was interrupted. He spoke of another attack on the energy security of his country. After the latest attack, the supply will be out for at least 5 days.
According to the Hungarian television, Orban wrote to his campaign helpers in a circular letter: “I asked the American president for help. The Ukrainians constantly shoot the friendship pipeline short and small. They did the same with (the Baltic Sea gas pipeline) North Stream.
An attack on another druschba pump station had already stopped the supply of Hungary on Monday. It could be restored on Tuesday. “48 hours for the repair” wrote the Ukrainian commander Bowdi this time and added to Hungarian: “Russians, skin off!” The relationship between the neighbors in Hungary and Ukraine is excited. From Kiev’s point of view, Orban keeps too close contact to Moscow and blocks the Ukraine recording process in the EU.
Complaint to the EU Commission
Szijjarto and his Slovak colleague Juraj Blanar also complained in a joint letter to the EU foreign commissioner Kaja Kallas and energy commissioner Dan Jorgensen. “Any risk to our country’s energy security is unacceptable,” said Blanar. He referred to a statement by the EU Commission in January, which deals with the protection of the critical infrastructure. In view of the billion dollar aids for Ukraine, Kiev’s steps are “completely unacceptable”. The pipeline operator Transtrol in Slovakia confirmed the delivery stop from Thursday evening.
The Pipeline Druschba is a branched system of several thousand kilometers long, through which the former Soviet Union supplied the socialist countries in Eastern and Central Europe with petroleum. Because of the Russian War against Ukraine, Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic no longer receive Russian oil. In 2024, Ukraine blocked its part of the pipeline for deliveries towards Slovakia and Hungary, but they further refer to Russian oil via other parts of the pipeline.
