Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury fulfilled the predictions by defeating Polish veteran Mariusz Wach by technical knockout in the seventh round, in a fight played this Friday in Pattaya, Thailand.
Fury dominated the confrontation from start to finish and, after seven episodes, Wach’s team decided to stop the fight to avoid further punishment on their boxer.
With this result, the Briton takes another step towards the expected confrontation against Anthony Joshua, who this Saturday will face Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both fighters already have a signed agreement to meet later in 2026, although Joshua must first overcome his commitment.
Fury remains undefeated since coming out of retirement
With the victory over Wach, “The Gypsy King” improves his record since returning from retirement earlier this year, adding two consecutive wins.
In April, the 37-year-old Briton defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in London, bouncing back from the two consecutive losses he had suffered against former undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.
For his part, Wach, 46, left his professional record at 39 wins and 14 losses.
A discreet fight before a possible mega-fight
The fight between Fury and Wach was held without television broadcast and before approximately 1,500 spectators, in a low-profile event that served as preparation for the Briton before the possible clash with Joshua, considered one of the most anticipated fights in heavyweight boxing.
