A baby monitoring camera captured a beautiful moment shared by twin girls.
In the video, 18-month-old sisters Ever and Shiloh, who had spent the day apart for the first time in their lives, are in their cribs holding hands, cuddling and laughing in their room.
The bond between them is palpable: at one point, Ever — who is the older by 15 minutes — plants a tender kiss on Shiloh’s forehead, followed by an affectionate pat on the back.
The video, which was recorded in 2022, recently racked up 30 million views after her mother, Lauren Berty, shared it on the social media site Instagram.
“They were only apart for a few hours,” Berty told NBC News’ show in an interview.
At the time, the family was using babysitters from their Arlington, Virginia, neighborhood, but Berty decided to leave Shiloh at home with her because she was feeling ill.
“At the end of the day, when they were reunited, they were excited,” Berty said. The girls were also exhausted, or so Berty thought.
“All of a sudden, I hear my husband laughing on the baby monitor,” she recalled. “I look at the screen and there they are, laughing their heads off and having the time of their lives.” “They have their own language,” she added.
Nearly 13,000 people have commented on Berty’s video.
“My twins are 5 years old and every time they are separated (one misses a day of school, or goes to grandma’s house for the day, etc.) their reunion is like this! I hope it always stays like this,” said one user.
And another said: “My twins are 27 now. And this is exactly how they used to behave. And they haven’t changed.”
Shiloh and Ever are now 3 years old and are as close as ever. When Shiloh misses a day of preschool, Ever doesn’t know what to do, according to Berty, who has spoken to her teachers.
“They feel lost without each other,” Berty said, “they feel each other’s absence in a way that I think other siblings don’t.”
