Trump increases a fee for skilled workers to $ 100,000

US President Donald Trump increases the fee for skilled workers to $ 100,000 (around 85,100 euros). A government representative confirmed a Bloomberg report, according to which the costs for the H-1b visa used by specialists from India will increase to $ 100,000.

Around three quarters of the recipients of H-1b visa come from India. Large technology companies are dependent on employees from the country.

Tech entrepreneurs, including Trump’s former ally Elon Musk, have warned against being targeted by H-1b-Visa. They argue that there are not enough people in the United States to fill important positions in the technology sector.

Meanwhile, Trump signed a decree to create a “Gold Card” stay. It should cost one million dollars for individuals and two million dollars if a company sponsors.

Trump told journalists that he thinks the program would be a great success. He had already announced the “Gold Card” at the beginning of the year.
